Bernhard Bredell represents the seventh generation of his family to farm the Helderberg, and his Atlantikas grows mere kilometers from False Bay, where ocean breezes shape a saline intensity few South African Pinotages achieve. Wild blueberries, tart cherry, and plum skin layer with rooibos, black tea, and hints of coastal scrub. Native yeast fermentation and aging in old oak followed by bottling without fining or filtering preserve the wine's mineral precision. This is textured and energetic—as comfortable with grilled lamb as it is with spicy lentil stew.
