Michter's US*1 Toasted Barrel Sour Mash Whiskey

A whiskey finished in a custom-built toasted (not charred) barrel. Michter's takes their US*1 Sour Mash and transfers it to a second barrel assembled from wood that has been air-dried for 18 months, then toasted at carefully calibrated levels. Toasting without charring creates subtler, sweeter wood influence—more caramel and baking spice, less aggressive smokiness. First introduced in 2019, this expression has become a favorite among Michter's devotees. Bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV).
