BK Wines Adelaide Hills Chardonnay Gin Gin 2020

100% Chardonnay Gin Gin clone, the oldest in Australia, planted on sandstone soils with lots of quartz at 500 meters. Hand harvested and direct pressed to French oak barrique, 20% of which are new. The wine underwent full malolactic, with fortnightly (that’s every two weeks) battonage for 8 months after which is was racked and bottled. Reminiscent of the Jura due to its slightly oxidative nose (think cashew nuts) and notes of Juniper berries and alpine wild flowers with a fresh, rounded texture.
